Rare Sarangi Recordings

Since the late 1960’s, Joep Bor has been studying the history and learning the music of the SARANGI, a bowed instrument from South Asia which is heard especially in Hindustani music of North India.

Over the years, he has recorded and archived a number of cassette recordings related to the sarangi – interviews, performances, oral histories, and more. For the first time, these archival recordings have been digitized and are available for scholars and musicians to hear and enjoy.
